I'll show you the Painting, I called it Sharman just 10yrs ago, I hope in the new Year 2020 I will have those same feelings of struggling and bringing some expression onto can...Read Full Post »

It definately is Christmas season again, I was blessed to have 3 sales on Bluethumb this week. I showed all of them on my last few blog posts. It's a wonderful feeling and makes it all worth while when someone actuly loves what I'm doing. That goes for all the people who follow me and like my posts and to those who actually purchase. I love what I do and the gift I have been given, I have been doing it really all my life, and gives me great pleasure to see others enjoying my work.Read Full Post »

I turned 70 and must be in a hurry because I have been able to paint more work than I had all year lol. I have done 3 sketches of pooches for ladies from the Beaufort Market, I have painted a scene for a friend in America, who has paid me in Golden paints, which I am looking forward to using, I made up 4 jars of wax medium and have been experimenting with that on some beaut University cartridge paper that I bought, which I think i have wasted about 4 sheets with gesso which buckles them, but ...Read Full Post »

I have been getting up early in the morning and going out Painting in some high spots I know where I live in Moonambel, Pyrenees Shire Victoria Australia. I had to choose cool days because it gets so hot in the sun but these two were rather cold, I thought I would freeze to death as well as battling the wind which blows the canvas over me. I was glad it was acrylic because its drier but then the sun dries out on the pallette faster so I have to keep mixing the colors, as any artis...Read Full Post »

The weather has not been good for painting outside so I have been painting abstracts again, and this last one has been the most satisfying abstract I have done in a long time. It has a wash exposing some layers beneath and I love the colours together, especially the dark moody Blue. Bluethumb the online gallery have chosen it for there staff picks which has been a lovely surprise.

I have decided to take a new direction and paint all the wonderful scenery that take my breath away when I see them as we drive to various locations. It will take a lot of effort because of distances to travel we are usually rushing through to our destinations. I am determined to make special trips just to stop and paint and take photographs as I love working Plein air and in the studio. Sometimes they can be brought to completion in the studio after starting in the outdoors with photographic...Read Full Post »

This Painting has turned out to be a trial run for the next which I will start by the end of the week. I have taken note of a few things, 1. that I need to use a ruler, and a couple of compositional things for the features on my face. Most of all things need to be in place and the right colors used first and uniformly especially wiith Acrylics because theres no second take once a color is on it will not be lightened again, unless with a little gesso and there must be enough Paint mixed even i...Read Full Post »
